XenCenter

Export a Template to a File

When you export a custom template, it is saved in an XVA file in the location of your choice. This file contains a complete copy of the template (including disk images). You can then import the template and use it to create a VM in the same or in a different resource pool.

To export a template to a file

  1. In the Resources pane, select the template.
  2. On the Templates menu, select Export to File…. Alternatively, right-click on the template and choose Export to File… from the context menu.
  3. On the page Export File Details of the wizard, enter the XVA file name and browse to locate the folder where you want to create the file. Click Next to continue.
  4. On the Finish page, review the settings you have selected. To have XenCenter verify the exported package, select the Verify export on completion check box. Then select Finish to begin the export.
